BFC Kids Cup 201730-01-2017 | 14:43:27 | 1 Comment

Mr Ball, Mrs Cox and 8 boys from the football team competed in Blackpool Football Club’s Kids Cup 2017 at Stanley Park. The boys did very well scoring lots of goals and working as a team, reaching the quarter finals against Hawes Side, who just edged us out of the competition. A huge well done to the boys!

They will now play in the Blackpool Primary School’s League over the next term against Anchorsholme, Norbreck and St. Teresa’s. Keep an eye out for news on here!P1030761 P1030762 P1030767

Supertato to the rescue!27-01-2017 | 18:45:19 | No Comments

The evil peas have been on the loose! On Monday we found ‘Carrot man’ taped to the whiteboard in our class. How did he get there? The children came up with lots of fantastic ideas and spent the afternoon looking for clues. We wrote down what we thought had happened to him.

We loved telling stories about ‘ Supertato’ so we decided to make our own super vegetables.

In Maths we have benn learning how to add two groups together. We used the beans and  different objects from the story to make some number problems e.g. If there were 3 beans in the jelly and 4 beans in the freezer, how many do we have altogether?

We also made a graph to find out what our favourite vegetable was. The most popular vegetable was sweet corn and the least popular was Brussel sprouts. Mrs Henrys said they were her favourite though.

A group of children in Year 4 were lucky enough to take part in a street dance workshop at Blackpool 6th Form on Friday 27th January.  It was great fun and the children learned an exciting dance routine!

We have had great fun this week in our role play area re-enacting Scutari hospital during the Crimean war. Florence Nightingale and her team of nurses took care of the wounded soldiers and they did a great job.P1060351 P1060352 P1060353 P1060354 P1060355 P1060356 P1060357 P1060358 P1060359
