HAPPY HALF TERM EVERYONE!

What a busy Friday we have had!

We have been practicing throwing and catching skills on the muga this morning. It would be great if you could practice this is the garden or at the park during the holidays.

We went to the library this afternoon! Thank you to everyone for bringing back library books. We love sitting quietly and looking through our favourite books. We are looking forward to reading our books over the holidays too.

Autumn 1 Celebration Assembly27-10-2017 | 14:16:57 | 1 Comment

Our half-termly celebration assembly took place today – what a busy 8 weeks we have had in school! We have covered lots of the curriculum already.

Reception talked about their book ‘Aliens Love Underpants’ and the alien shapes they had made inspired by the books.

1L told us how they are reading Arnold’s (The School Dog) body language to see what he is trying to communicate.

1M had a great time outdoors on the MUGA making human numbers.

Year 2 celebrated with a visit from Samuel Pepys and other characters from the Great Fire of London in 1066.

Year 3 treated us to a demonstration of some of the moves they had learned from the Royal Ballet School.

Year 4 have had a busy half term and showed us their Roman aqueducts, read us a newspaper report about Robin Hood and told us about the musical instruments they had made inspired by the topic on sound.

Year 5 were swimming but they have been extremely busy too! Splish splash!

Year 6 inspired us all with a powerpoint presentation about their trip to Waterpark.

Christian Value Champions25-10-2017 | 16:05:24 | No Comments

This half term we have been looking at the Christian Value of TRUTH. We have explored what this value means and why Jesus taught us to be truthful.

Our Bible memory verse is found in John 8 v 32:

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!

Here are some of the children, who have been chosen by their classmates, who model what it means to be truthful at all times. Well done to this half term’s ‘Values Champions!’

There have been some very important visitors in Y6 this week.  We have learned the importance of keeping safe on the roads and how we can help people  in a traffic accident.

What a great career this could be for some of our children.

World Maths Day in 6A20-10-2017 | 07:36:24 | No Comments

On World Maths Day Year 5 and 6 took part in a range of exciting activities. In 6A we designed paper planes using various techniques. We then flew each plane three times, measured the distance flown and time in the air. We then calculated the average for each and decided on a winner!

Great fun!

World Maths Day – Years 5/618-10-2017 | 10:16:06 | No Comments

On Friday 13th October 2017, we celebrated World Maths Day here at Bispham Endowed.

In the upper juniors, each teacher changed their classrooms into a themed room.
We had a travel shop, a bakery, a maths/medicine lab and an art gallery.

Here are some pictures from the travel shop group, who had to carry out a holiday search, using given criteria; such as who was travelling, for how long and the cheapest time to travel.

The children then displayed their findings on a travel shop window sign.

Here are some children in holiday searching action…..
