Changing Horizons Event at the Winter Gardens – February 22nd 201805-03-2018 | 13:51:57 | 2 Comments

We waited for our transport to take us to the Changing Horizons event at the Winter Gardens. A game of ‘eye spy’ entertained us, whilst we waited!

On arrival,  we were greeted by Nicola Smith and Linda Astley who were our lovely hosts for the day.

Following registration, we  were taken around different stalls, where the children took part in a variety of activities, linked to an area of work they may be interested in in the future. The children worked with ‘Forces Television, Warburtons, Blackpool and the Fylde College, amongst others. The group visited many different stands too, where the Police, Army and  Navy talked about what a career with them would be like.

We took part in a taste test with Warburtons. Each child came away with a free loaf, Mrs Cox and Mrs Bell too!

The group particularly liked filming with the ‘Forces TV’ crew. They experienced what it is like to set, light and record a news and weather piece.  We certainly saw some future TV stars in the making!

Before returning back to school, the children filled out a quick card, to say what they enjoyed about their day. Here are some examples;

Many thanks to the organisers, DWP for an inspirational day! Also, a big thankyou to Linda and Nicola, our guides for helping us along the way.

  1. It was a pleasure to take the children to the Changing Horizons event. We had such positive feedback from many adults, about how well behaved our children were and what a credit they were to Bispham Endowed.

    Well done children and thanks to Mrs Cox for coming with us.
